Dish towel FINALLY done

I finished my MIL's birthday gift - just in time. Her birthday is in two days.

The dishcloths went really quickly. The dish towels, not so fast. These were my own modifications from the Mason Dixon Ballband dishcloths. Basically, I cast on 6 more stitches than what was called for with the dishcloths. Knitted three stripes, gartered the rest, then put another three striped on the top.

The two little round things are scrubbies. These go FAST!

(UPDATE: I've received a couple of requests for the dishtowel pattern. I've written it out here.)

What I great idea. I'm currently working on a hand towel as well. I got the idea from the MDK book. It's linen with a monogrammed S but the rest is done is stockinette with a seed stitch border and it is taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r. I try to do a couple of rows every day so I can get both towels done in time for the wedding.

Your towels are really gorgeous.I am into that color scheme!
I have been on a big dishcloth ...thing ..lately..as well as other small items in cotton. I think it's due to needing an occasional break from a larger project.
Thanks for sharing!
